Grandmother 18×24 Matte Print

One of my favorite pieces, Grandmother was inspired by a statuette I came across while visiting Puerto Rico. The woman in the statue was surrounded by 7 little black girls who looked exactly like her. It occurred to me that every race of people is represented in the Caribbean, so I wanted to depict the central character as a ‘grandmother’ to all of these children.
